Raw Sacramento News
Newsletter to Raw Sacramento Thursday, November 26, 2003
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Are you heading to a family dinner? Need a raw recipe to take? There's a recipe for Whipped Sweet Potatoes on our Recipes Page from Chef Chad Sarno. It is the 1st recipe on the page (as of now). Of the many things I have to be thankful for this year, one is that overall I enjoy good health and vitality--something I know is attributable to avoiding stuffing and gravy (and all the other garbage I used to eat routinely).
Gordon & Gladys Callander wanted me to send a cordial invitation to our Annual Holiday Dessert Potluck which will be held at their home in Elk Grove on Sunday December 7. The Callanders don't wear shoes in their home, so bring thick socks or slippers if you are prone to cold feet. BTW, I used to have cold hands and feet before I went raw....now I don't [-Mark].
Recall that Paul Nison will be in Sacramento on January 19. Mark your calendar. Details including location will be announced soon.

Can you help Raw Sacramento?
Here are 2 ways you could help Raw Sacramento:
1. Hosting a 2004 Potluck
I have updated our potluck schedule indicating the dates in 2004 for potlucks. What we need now are homes at which we could have these potlucks. Our participation is trending up—our last potluck had 40 individuals. If you are the host, you do not need to prepare a dish. And, you don't need to drive. The food comes to you! Here's some information about hosting a potluck.
2. Writing a Raw Food Testimony Have you eaten exclusively Raw Foods for at least 2 months? Did you experience any health improvements? Would you be willing to write a 'Raw Food Testimony?" We would like to post more of these. If you have concrete, documentable health improvements and can write a few paragraphs about your experience, it may influence and help others. Would you please send us your Testimony?
Our Steering Committee will meet next on Tuesday, December 2 at the Co-op Dining Area at 5:30pm. All Raw Sacramento members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We always need volunteers for special projects such as the Event Coordinator for Paul Nison's visit.
Do you need a personal raw food coach? We have a couple in Sacramento. Here's Shar. Here's Maya.
